Robin Phillips

Born in Horsham, Victoria and soon after moving to Melbourne with her family, Robin completed her education at St. Leonards College in Brighton then moved on to work with a Broking firm at the Stock Exchange for many years until a change in direction combined with helping a friend out working in an arts supply store, allowed her to discover and pursue her love of art.
Robin has long felt her talent has been inherited from her great grandmother of Belgian decent who hand painted Delft ware in the 19th century.
A move to the Mornington Peninsula in 1997 and a chance meeting with John Bredl at one of his exhibitions, led to oil classes with John for many years and today Robin still attends classes with respected artist Wendy Smith.
A trip to Europe in 2002 aroused Robin’s real passion in painting still life, capturing the colour and softness of fresh flowers combined with the artistic magnificence of priceless pieces of porcelain and pottery, provides endless inspiration.
Robin has won several highly commended awards over the years including Best Flowers in Show at Flinders Art Show in 2003 and Best Painting in Show under $500 at Camberwell Rotary Art Show in 2004. Robin exhibits at Sorrento and Flinders Fine Art Galleries on the Mornington Peninsula.
