Jo-Anne Seberry

Jo-Anne is a Melbourne Artist and is well known for her unique interpretation of color, light and technical expertise. Her subjects are varying and are all depicted with a love and sensitivity of her subjects and can range from local Sorrento beach scenes to Venetian Canals, Tuscan Landscapes, portraits and nudes.
Jo-Anne has studied overseas in Europe and USA where she studied with master pastellist, Daniel Green, in New York. “This experience gave me the understanding to paint pastels with an intensity of colour and application that I had not thought possible”. It gave her the impetus to explore new and exciting ways of expressing her work.
Jo-Anne has won many awards including the Sorrento Rotary Show 7 times the Pastel prize at Camberwell Rotary Art Show twice and recently won two awards in the “Pastel Journal” (April 2008), top 100 paintings competition in the US. Some of her paintings have been reproduced for the covers of Novels and Calendars and she has had a Painting published in the “Best of Pastel II” in the US,and also featured in 50 Australian Artists Vol 1.
Jo-Anne is a full member of the American Pastel Society of America in New York and has been selected twice to exhibit in their annual exhibitions, where she won the Board of Directors Award in 1990.
Jo-Anne has taught for the CAE and now teaches at her home studio and often is asked to do painting demonstrations for Art Societies, she also judges at local Art Shows. She has held many solo and joint exhibitions she exhibits at Flinders and Sorrento Fine Art Galleries.
